What counts as a dental emergency?
Dental problems are not always easy to judge at home. If you are in pain or uncertain, calling early is the safest way to understand the next step.
Call a dentist promptly
Contact the office about persistent or severe tooth pain, swelling, a chipped or broken tooth, a loosened or knocked-out tooth, or a lost filling or crown.
- Pain that interrupts sleep or normal activity
- Swelling of the face or gums
- A tooth damaged by an injury
- A missing or loose restoration
When to call 911
Severe swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, major facial trauma, or another potentially life-threatening condition requires emergency medical attention rather than waiting for a dental appointment.
What happens when you call
Describe what you feel, when it began, and whether an injury occurred. Green Dental reserves time in the schedule for emergency situations and will help determine how urgently you should be evaluated.
